March’s Cheese of the Month

08 Mar 2018

Translated, Delice des Cremiers means delight of the cheese-maker, but we think this melt-in-your-mouth triple cream beauty is a sure-fire crowd pleaser too.

Encased in a velvety soft white mould and presented in a round timber box to aid the ripening process, it doesn’t get much more decadent than one of our all-time favourite cheeses, Delice des Cremiers.

Made from cow’s milk in France’s Burgundy region by a 5thgeneration cheese-making family, the cheese has a gooey, melting texture, which is just what we look for in a triple cream fromage. Better still, if you leave it to mature in its timber case for a couple of weeks, this cheese becomes even softer and silker.

The flavour is sweet, buttery and fruity, and thanks to the crème fraiche, which is added during the manufacturing process, the cheese has a salty, hazelnut tang on the finish.

You can’t go wrong if you serve this indulgent cheese with a glass or two of bubbly at your next function.

You’ll find Delice des Cremiers instore at The Black Truffle (RRP $12.95/100g)
